Parameter Tree:
EARTH SCIENCE > CRYOSPHERE > SEA ICE > ICE ROUGHNESS

Definition:
The small-scale variation in the relief of the terrain surface (in this
case the surface of the ice). Remote sensing instruments, such as radar
and microwave sensors, have been able to detect the degree of roughness of
sea, lake, and river ice.
