EARTH SCIENCE > SUN-EARTH INTERACTIONS > SOLAR ACTIVITY > COSMIC RAYS
Definition:
High energy particles and photons emitted by stellar processes. The highest
energies have been observed at 10*8 Tev and are believed to come from shocks
emanating from galaxies. Solar cosmic rays are protons observed at 1 Gev,
having been accelerated by shocks associated with solar flares.
