Summary
Abstract:
As part of the National Geoscience Data Repository System (NGDRS),this
data set of approximately 75,000 well log headers is comprised of a Well Archive Table and a Well Log Archive Table. The data includes information on well location, core depth, types of available well logs, drilling parameters, and well operator. The NGDRS is maintained by the American Geological Institute (AGI) and is made possible through the joint sponsorship of the petroleum industry and the Department of Energy (DOE). The development of the NGDRS was inspired by the need to preserve the large volumes of geologic data that were collected by the petroleum industry and its associated agencies during the assessment and development of well sites.
