Summary
Abstract:
Survey report for Casey Station, 1983, by wintering technical officer Peter James.
Taken from the survey report: Summer Program A detailed program of measurements was made on the Vanderford Glacier, by helicopter, of ice movement, ice thickness and surface elevation during the summers of 1982-83 and 1983-84. Traverse Program 1982 The major objective of the 1983 program was the establishment of a line of ice movement stations to the west of B029 along the 68 degrees 30 minutes S parallel of latitude to the vicinity of 95 degrees - 100 degrees E longitude, approximately parallel to the 2000 m surface elevation contour. A secondary objective, but of highest priority for winter, was the re-survey of movement stations on the east of Law Dome.
