Summary

Abstract: This data set was derived from NASA's Nimbus satellite and the HIRS/MSU sensor
(HIgh Resolution infrared Sounder; Microwave Sounding Unit) as a sample data
set only, which shows the monthly day-time mean temperature for January 1979.
The original data have a spatial resolution of 2.5 degrees longitude by 2
degrees latitude, but for this sample file the data have been resampled to
one-eighth degree ...
