Monthly average of terrestrial minimum temperature (deg C) from Climate Research Unit (CRU) 0.5 Degree 1901-1995 Monthly Climate Time-SeriesEntry ID: MEAR_4
Abstract: 0.5 Degree data set of monthly terrestrial surface climate for the period 1901-1996. The spatial coverage extends over all land areas, including oceanic islands but excluding Antarctica. Fields of monthly climate anomolies, relative to the 1961-1990 mean, were interpolated from surface climate. Variables such as precipitation and temperature were interpolated directly from station observations. ... Climatic variables of precipitation and temperature were provided to the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment in a spatial GIS grid format (created from the CRU data sets) by the Water Systems Analysis Group, Institute for the Study of the Earth, Oceans and Space, University of New Hampshire, USA. Climate grids are:
precipitation (PRECIP_monthly); mean temperature (TMP_monthly); minimum temperature (TMIN_monthly); maximum temperature (TMAX_monthly).
