Summary
Abstract: Most units of the National Park Service have
incomplete floristic inventories. Large, popular
parks are in general the most complete, but less
is known the smaller the park. Floristic
inventories have tended to focus on vascular
plants, with less focus on other plant groups that

finished and published, and lichen flora of 11
national parks have been completed and some have
been published. Progress has been hampered by
erratic funding and availability of qualified
