Summary
Abstract: The co-registration of the SPOT image (31 March 1991, SIC 187) was done as part of the Heard Island AAS2939 project (Lucieer et al.). This SPOT image was co-registered to the IKONOS Jan. 2004 image (metadata ID: SIC_266_267_georectification). All processing was done in ENVI 4.4 (http://www.ittvis.com).

Quality - The previously orthorectified SPOT image (orthos2x24545.tif; Georeferenced SPOT scene number S2H1910331050326, acquired on 31 Mar 1991), was co-registered to the IKONOS 2004 base image (metadata ID: SIC_266_267_georectification). The IKONOS image was resampled to a 20m resolution to match the SPOT image pixel size.
- The SPOT image was co-registered to the IKONOS 2004 image using an image-to-image registration method. The image was warped using 22 pts with an RMS Error of 2.31 (based on a first order polynomial), and a triangulation method with nearest neighbour resampling.
- The co-registered SPOT image was then subset using the Jan. 2006 Quickbird image, as this was the image it would be compared to during change detection.
