Summary

Abstract: ESRI formatted raster grid of the Antarctic Continental terrain, derived from ERS radar altimeter data.
The grid has 'no data' cells in latitudes south of 82 degrees south and steep areas of the continent, particularly along the coast.

Quality This grid cell layer was interpolated from a triangulated irregular network that was generated from slope corrected orthometric heights of Antarctica (refer to metadata record ERS_DTM_TIN_ANT).
These heights were derived using ERS radar altimetry.
The grid cells are 5000 x 5000 metres in size and there are 1081 columns and 964 rows. The ArcGIS spatial analyst extension was used to derive the grid from the triangulated irregular network file . Areas of invalid height in the reliability data set (refer to metadata record ERS_REL_ANT) were used to mask out (assign no data values) to corresponding cells in the grid.
