Summary
Abstract: The Global Analysis page is prepared by and available from the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC). The page was first presented in 1998 as part of the State of the Climate Report. It is a framework that summarizes global observations of (surface and upper-air) temperature and precipitation data by placing the data into historical perspective. The Global Analysis page provides monthly, seasonal, and annual climate summaries, covering the topics: Global Surface Temperature, Global precipitation, Global Sea Surface Temperature, El Nino/Southern Oscillation (ENSO), (Lower and Mid) Tropospheric Temperatures, (Lower) Stratospheric Temperatures, Northern Hemisphere Snow Cover Extent (seasonal), and Northern Hemisphere Sea Ice Extent (seasonal).

Purpose: To make a wide range of climatic data available to researchers and the public.
