Changes from the LWP 2002 to LWP 2005 include the following: 1) The populated and USGS urban polygons layers are replaced by CIESIN Global Rural Urban Mapping Project (GRUMP) urban extent layer. 2) The USGS Global land Cover Characteristics layer is replaced with EU Joint Research Centre Global Land Cover 2000 dataset. 3) The roads layer is updated using Latin America and Caribbean Roads data compiled by Centro Internacional de Agricultura Tropical (CIAT). Africa roads are updated from compilation of Africa roads data by Andy Nelson.
