Agricultural Trade LiberalizationEntry ID: USDA0298
Abstract: "Agricultural Trade Liberalization" is a database for studies on
agricultural trade liberalization. It includes 1989 data for 22
commodities. Also included are elasticities of supply and
demand, quantities and prices, and levels of support expressed
as producer and consumer equivalents (PSEs and CSEs). They are
designed to be used with the SWOPSIM Modeling Framework.
Collection Organization: ... Economic Research Service.
Collection Methodology: Quantity data are from the USDA/FAS
Supply and Utilization Database. Price support data are from
IMF, USDA, and OECD. Elasticities are not estimated, but from
literature search and survey of country and commodity analysts.
Collection Frequency: This database replaced two previous ones
with 1984 and 1986 base data.
Update Characteristics: The elasticities were not updated;
everything else was updated.
The data are archived files in SuperCalc 5 (.CAL) format when
unarchived, and require 8MB of hard disk space.
