Abstract: This experiment began in 1966 on a site that was originally forested.
Later, the site had wheat,bean sunflower,maize,(wheat,pea) growing on
Land use in this experiment consists of: Rotation 1 -
wheat,maize,maize,pea; Rotation 2 - wheat,maize,maize,wheat; Rotation
3 - 4 x maize. Treatments: NPK fertilizers (20-40 treatments).
The soil at the site is described as a Hapludoll (USDA)
Apl 0-35 ... cm: brown sandy loam with crumb structure, calcareous, definite
transition to the next layer. B 35-90 cm: greyish-brown somewhat
sandy loam with lime cores and crumb structure, humus lessivation, high
root density, strongly calcareous. BC 90-135 cm: yellowish-brown
somewhat sandy loess loam with crumb structure and lime cores, humus
lessivation, strongly calcareous, gradual transition. C 135-160 cm:
yellow somewhat silty loess with lime cores, strongly calcareous.
Nearest meteorological station to the site: Siofok. which is 26 km
from the site. The meteorological station is manual.
