Summary
Abstract: The sun-synchronous Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) series has
provided one of the longest running nighttime global lightning data set. The
Scanning Radiometer on DMSP-5B-F3 and the Operational Line Scanner (OLS) on
DMSP-5D-1/F1, 5D-2/F7, 5D-2/F8, and 5D-2/F9 recorded high-resolution
