Abstract:
The Shellfisheries Section of the Department of Environmental
Conservation (DEC) manages bivalve shellfish, such as clams, oysters, mussels and scallops. Lobsters, crabs and shrimp are not included. These animals are crustaceans and are managed by the Crustaceans Unit of the DEC.
