Contours for the Amery Region map dated November 2002.Entry ID: ERS_CONT_MERGED_AMERY
Abstract: Contours for the Amery Region map published by the Australian Antarctic Data Centre in November 2002 (see link below).
This contour data were derived from Russian space photography, ERS-1 and ERS-2 Radar altimeter data (BKG, Germany) and the Antarctic Digital Database, Version 2. Refer to the contour source diagram - digital data (refer to metadata record ERS_CONT_SOURCE_AMERY) or view map (see link below). The contour interval is 500 metres from 500 to 3000 metres. There are also 200 metre contours.

Quality This data set was derived from a number of different sources to produce contours for the Amery Region map published by the Australian Antarctic Data Centre in November 2002.
The data set consists of contours derived from ERS radar altimetry (refer to metadata record ERS_CONT_500_ANT), the Antarctic Digital Database Version 2 and Russian space photography.
... All contours with elevations of 1500 metres and above are from ERS radar altimetry while these were only used at lower altitudes where contours from the other two data sources were not available.
Where contours from two different sources did not join, new contours were placed visually and assigned a certainty value of connector to create a smooth transition from one dataset to the other.
Contours range from 500 metres to 3000 metres on a 500 metre interval. There are also 200 metre contours.
