A digital terrain model of Antarctica in Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) format, derived from ERS Radar Altimetry.Entry ID: ERS_DTM_TIN_ANT
Abstract: ESRI formatted triangular irregular network (TIN) of the Antarctic continental terrain, derived from ERS radar altimeter data. The TIN is unreliable in latitudes south of 82 degrees south and steep areas of the continent, particularly along the coast.

Quality The triangulated irregular network (TIN) was generated from slope corrected orthometric heights derived from ERS radar altimetry (refer to metadata record GRI_ORT_SLC_FIN). The ESRI ArcGIS 3D analyst extension was used to generate this TIN using only the valid points in the shapefile. The Antarctic coastline, from the Antarctic Digital Database version 3, was used as a breakline in the TIN ... generation. There is a large hole in the polar region of the radar altimetry data so the TIN is unreliable in this area. This is also the case in large areas of invalid heights. Refer to metadata record ERS_REL_ANT for information about a shapefile that gives an indication of areas of invalid heights. Generally the TIN is unreliable in latitudes south of 82 degrees south and steep areas of the continent, particularly along the coast.
