Summary

Abstract: This georegulatory data layer describes represents the spatial extent
of the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act. Attributes for this spatial data
file include not only the the statutory and regulatory references for this law,
but also the name and contact information of the state agency that maintains
regulatory jurisdiction.

Purpose: The ability to visualize regulations, laws, or management structures
can help policy makers understand use conflicts, point out inconsistencies in
national or state policy, and educate the public about ocean issues. In
addition, georegulations allow the user to view the spatial extent of these
laws, along with natural resources that many of these laws seek to protect.
