Summary
Abstract:
Little is known about the status of breeding
populations of ferruginous hawks (Buteo regalis) within Idaho and North America. A program designed to answer questions concerning the species status would provide much-needed information to the Bureau of Land Management on the management of the species. This study will compare density, occupancy, and productivity of nesting ferruginous hawks in the ... ![]() Purpose: Results of the study will help the Bureau of Land Managements biologist in developing habitat management plans for ferruginous hawks in their resource areas. The data will be used to develop a protocol for monitoring long-term nesting and reproduction trends of ferruginous hawks in southern Idaho. The results will also be useful for developing a nationwide monitoring protocol for the species. Geographic Coverage
