The Measured Temperature Regime of the Collins Ice Cap on King George Island in West Antarctica
Entry ID:
PRIC_COLLINS_TEMP
Summary
Abstract:
Ice temperature was measured with thermistors (precision of 0.1 Celcius degree)
at seven borehole sites along the principal ridge of the Collins Ice Cap in West Antarctica between December 13, 1991 and November 8, 1992. The elevation difference between two adjacent boreholes is about 100m. Most boreholes with thermistors are more than 25m in depth. Continuous temperature measurements were conducted through nearly half a year at several boreholes in lower elevations. Geographic Coverage
