|
Abstract:
The AVHRR Pathfinder Atmosphere (PATMOS) Project is a NOAA/NESDIS activity in support of the NOAA/NASA Pathfinder Program. Its original objective was to reprocess all afternoon AVHRR data from NOAA satellites from 1994 back to 1981. Operational algorithms are applied to radiance data corrected for calibration drift to produce a consistent record of atmospheric parameters for climate change studies. The output products are available on an equal area grid with resolution of 110 km, sampled twice daily, and averaged over five day (pentad) and monthly periods. The data set production continued beyond 1994. |
