Summary
Abstract: Stable isotope values (delta D, delta 18O and deuterium excess) for the near
surface ice at Mt Moulton, West Antarctica. Data measured at INSTAAR,
University of Colorado. Standard is V-SMOW. The data are recorded as length
along a surface transect, going from younger ice to older ice. Mt. Mouton is
a horizontal ice core. Estimated beginning age is about 10,000 years.
Estimated oldest age is about 200,000 years. Dating will be ultimately be
provided by argon (Ar/ Ar) dating of tephra layers found in the ice.
