Summary
Abstract: Metadata record for data from ASAC Project 1324
See the link below for public details on this project.

---- Public Summary from Project ----
Huge amounts of energy from the solar wind (the Suns expanding atmosphere), are stored in the magnetosphere (Earth's outer atmosphere), and released in geomagnetic storms that affect space and ground engineering systems (power systems, communications ... View entire text

Quality This particular dataset was never used in published material as there were concerns regarding the aerial calibrations (verbal communication with Dr. Mark Clilverd (macl@bas.ac.uk).

Start and end dates provided in temporal coverage are approximate only.

Difficulties affecting project (2008-2009 report):
A significant fault was found with the 250m external cable which connects the aerials system to the data loggers. A new cable will be required in 2009/10 season.
Access Constraints Further information and summary data are available from the URL's given below. For access to the complete dataset, see the investigator.

A local copy of the dataset is available from the AADC for personnel in the AAp - note that it is too large to be downloaded.

As of 2011-10-28 - the AADC copy of the dataset covers data up until 2011-10-26. For more recent data, see the links to the BAS website.
