Environmental monitoring station in the Darwin Glacier region
Entry ID:
K081_2004_2005_NZ_1
Summary
Abstract:
A data logging station was installed in the Darwin Glacier Region during October 2004 inland from Lake Wilson, just north of Diamond Hill. The station was configured, assembled and programmed to collect data on wind speed and direction, air temperature, solar radiation, radiance, soil PAR (three spots), soil temperature (three spots) and soil moisture (three spots). The programme measured most sensors at 30 second intervals, averages measurements and records these at 15 minute intervals. Exceptions are the soil moisture and temperature probes, which are read every 20 mins and averaged every hour in summer and read every 4 hours and averaged and recorded every 12 hours in winter. A new environmental monitoring station was erected at the Foggy Dog region in January 2007.
