Abstract:
The area between the Miers and Salmon Valleys were mapped in detail and sampled extensively to determine the relationship between basement intrusive and metamorphic rocks. Samples were used to provide a basis for a coherent nomenclature of some of the granitic rocks in the Dry Valley region. Samples were also collected from type areas of granites in the Taylor and Wright Valleys for comparison. ...

In Palmer, K. XRF Analyses of Granitoids and Associated Rocks from South Victoria Land, Antarctica (1987) Antarctic Data Series #12, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. This report presents major and trace element analyses (Tables 3 to 7) of 96 granitoid samples from South Victoria Land. The locations of the samples are shown on Maps 1 to 5 to enable quick reference (the last two digits of the VUW No. are shown on the maps). Appendix 2 contains XRF data on an additional 24 samples from the Miers Valley area.
