Abstract:
In northern Victoria Land (continental Antarctica, between 72 and 76 degrees S,
162 and 169 degrees E), 18 moss samples have been collected and analyzed for the presence of pollen. In turfs and cushions of 8 different moss species, at least 27 pollen taxa could be identified. Moss turfs were collected from 18 sites in coastal northern Victoria Land in
December 1990 and January 1991. Whenever possible, turfs of different species of moss with adhering soils were removed from the ground and each samples packed and sealed in a separate plastic bag.
