Observation of auroral displays at the Italian Antarctica Station Mario Zucchelli located at Terra Nova Bay to investigate the physical processes responsible for magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling and energy relaxation.

Spectral images are acquired by an electronic All-Sky-Camera system based on a
512x512 high sensitivity CCD and a 16 bit A/D conversion. The optical equipment was specifically developed for auroral observations in terms of optical transparency, resolution and FoV. Images can be corrected for relative transparency of optical system.
