Summary
Abstract: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) IS92 Emissions Scenarios (A, B, C, D, E, F) Dataset Version 1.1 consists of six global and regional greenhouse gases (GHGs) emissions scenarios projected from 1990 through 2100. The six alternative IPCC scenarios (IS92 A to F) were published in the 1992 Supplementary Report to the IPCC Assessment. These scenarios embodied a wide array of ... View entire text

Purpose: To provide the projections of anthropogenic emissions of gases that have the potential to affect climate change.

Quality It is impossible to assess errors that might have occurred in translating ice observations to the original operational charts and to SIGRID files, since these steps were performed at AARI. However, AARI estimates that ice edge boundaries are generally accurate to between 2 and 10 km under typical ice reconnaissance conditions, and to within 50 km under the worst conditions. Quality control routines assessed the 'correctness' of the AARI coding (i.e., checked whether the AARI implementation of SIGRID matched the published standard). Few errors were found in AARI's coding of the files.
