Data are obtained with a standard neutron monitor. It is based on the use of
BF3 proportional counters. About 92% of neutrons, recorded by the monitor, are created by the nucleonic component (one of the three cosmic ray components originating by the interaction of primary cosmic rays with the atmospheric air nuclei) flux, while about 1% of the total counting rate is coming from the background; the remaining 7% is induced by high energy muons and pions.
