Abstract: The Natural Resource Management Index (NRMI), 2011 Release is a composite index for 174 countries derived from the average of four proximity-to-target indicators for eco-region protection (weighted average percentage of biomes under protected status), access to improved sanitation, access to improved water and child mortality. Purpose: To assist in the country selection process for the Millennium Challenge Corporation by providing indicators of natural resource management and child health that complements the governance, social, and economic indicators used by MCC as country selection criteria.
