Fraser Experimental ForestEntry ID: USDA0385
Abstract: The "Fraser Experimental Forest" data set contains data on
long-term research on the impacts of land management activities
on multi-resource outputs (timber, water, wildlife) from
subalpine/alpine environments. Data also come from field
laboratory studies of subalpine/alpine ecosystems, including the
following types of data: precipitation chemistry, soil water
chemistry, streamflow chemistry, ... streamflow, meteorological
records, soil moisture records, vegetation, and snow.
Collection Organization: Forest Service.
Collection Methodology: Data generated by studying
meteorological, soil, moisture, vegetation, and snow records as
well as precipitation, soil water, and streamflow chemistry.
Collection Frequency: Depends on type of data: water samples-
2-4 times/week, hydromet-continuous 15 min. resolution, snow
pack-monthly, soil moisture- periodic, vegetation-annually,
Update Characteristics: N/A
1000s of MB as much as 3-400 MB/yr of records.
Data Center: USDA Forest Service
Dissemination Media: Paper, mainframe tapes, punch cards (all
pre-1982 records), and PC disks.
File Format: Data in all forms. All is summarized. About
one-half is available electronically. Some of the pre-1982
hydromet data is available only in hard copy.
Access Instructions: Contact the data center.
Access Restrictions: None
