Abstract:
The purpose of the "Soils and Terrain Database - Indiana and Hungary" is to improve soils information on a global and regional basis and the Global Soils and Terrain Database (SOTER), using satellite data. Test sites reside in Hungary and Indiana. Collection Organization: Purdue University (NASA funding). Collection Methodology: Using existing mappings; using remote sensing and digital terrain to improve discrepancies in existing maps (especially across political borders). Collection Frequency: Ongoing. Update Characteristics: Ongoing. STATISTICAL INFORMATION: 500 megabytes to a gigabyte for Hungary; will eventually have 500 megabytes for Indiana.
