Summary

Abstract: This data set contain the yearly data by season for the IMPROVE
Program monitoring sites.

IMPROVE, or the Interagency Monitoring of Protected Visual
Environments Program, is helping the National Park Service (NPS) and
other Federal Land Managers to protect visibility at 156 national
parks and wilderness areas (Class I Areas)as required by the Clean Air
Act. IMPROVE has representatives from the ...

Purpose: This coverage provides reference points so that visibility data may be
displayed and analyzed geographically, in a visual manner. Due to the
dynamic nature of this information the actual measurement data is not
included in the coverage. Instead it is stored as a separate database
that can be linked to the IMPROVE coverage. This separate database
allows for easier updates.
