Summary
Abstract: MARA is a at 54 MHz windprofiler radar operating during summer expeditions at Wasa / Aboa, Antarctica. Measurements comprise profiles of horizontal and vertical winds, r.m.s. turbulent velocities and radar scatter cross section (proportional to static stability in the troposphere and lower stratosphere. Height coverage is typically from 1000 m to 11 000 m and from 80 000 m to 90 000 m. Height resoltion 75 m - 600 m. Time resolution 1 minute. This radar was first operated in Jan/Feb 2007
