Summary
Abstract: Fire is a process, which given the right vegetation and meteorological
conditions, can be found in almost any part of the globe. In order to
understand and quantify the impact of fire on ecosystems and
atmosphere, there is a need to provide and analyse data on the spatial
and temporal distributions of fire at a global scale.

Access Constraints End-users external to GVM can have access to the data and make use of
it in their own field of research and/or application only if they
fullfill the use- constraints listed below.
Use Constraints When the data set is derived from results already published in
conferences or journals, the external user must agree with MTV on the
correct form of reference. If it is derived from results not yet
published, the external user and MTV should agree on a co-author
work. Special agreement from IGBP-DIS is required.
