Summary
Abstract:
The Ground Water Atlas of the United States includes summary information on permafrost in Alaska, and the relation of permafrost and ground water. The Atlas includes figures showing permafrost zones in Alaska, the approximate depth of the permafrost, small thaw lakes that form in continuous permafrost areas, pingos that form in permafrost areas, and a generalized diagrammatic section showing aquifers and permafrost.
