Summary data for Chinook salmon susceptibility
Entry ID:
MSU_CHS_S
Summary
Abstract:
A laboratory challenge model was developed to evaluate the effects of a natural M. cerebralis exposure on the susceptibility of Chinook salmon. Fry at 3 weeks post-hatch were subject to repeated doses of triactinomyxons and infection severity was assessed at 5 and 11 months post-exposure for each exposure group. This is summary data, raw data is submitted as a separate file.
Purpose: These data were collected to determine if laboratory challenges using a single parasite dose are comparable to the sustained doses that fish experience in a natural exposure and to determine if the resistance of Chinook salmon would be overcome with repeated challenge. (Source:MSU)
