Global EVI derived from AVHRR, SPOT, and MODIS 1981-present
Entry ID:
MEaSUREs_VIP_EVI
Summary
Abstract:
MEaSUREs VIP Enhanced Vegetation Index products are supported by a NASA Making Earth Science Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) collaborative agreement. The EVI is a two-band VI developed as a consistent, high quality, and well characterized Earth Science Data Record (ESDR) using long term data from multiple satellites in support of global change studies. In collaboration ...
![]() Purpose: Long term, consistent, and high quality vegetation records enable climate change study, and land surface change characterization. The MEaSUREs VIP EVI product enhances the performance of NASA MODIS algorithms (MOD13) by calculating EVI without the use of the blue band. The result minimizes adverse reactions known in NDVI products to dense vegetation, sparse vegetation, and background signals. Geographic Coverage
