Abstract:
Earthshots is an ebook of before-and-after Landsat images (1972-present),
showing recent environmental events and introducing remote sensing. Earthshots comes from the U.S. Geological Survey's EROS Center, Sioux Falls, SD, the world's largest archive of earth science data. [Summary provided by USGS.] Purpose: The images displayed in Earthshots are examples of Landsat data that help scientists worldwide understand more about how both people and nature are changing the landscape.
