Summary
Abstract:
Hurricane Opal - Preliminary Report is a technical report available from the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC). This report deals with the US landfall of Hurricane Opal, the 15th named storm in an amazingly active 1995 Atlantic tropical storm season. Included are a short narrative with some of the details of Opal and its aftermath, rainfall/wind tables and maps, satellite images, and NEXRAD radar images. Storm surge, rainfall amounts, peak wind gusts, and other information are based on preliminary data.
Purpose: To make a wide range of climatic data available to researchers and the public.
