Elemental and isotopic composition of trapped gases in the horizontal Moulton ice core
Entry ID:
Moulton_Gas_Data
Summary
Abstract:
Data are included for the elemental and isotopic composition of
trapped gases in the A, E and F trenches. Specifically, the d15N of N2, d18O of atm O2, dO2/N2, dAr/N2, total gas content and the methane concentration are included for each block that was measured at Penn State. The depths correspond to the distance along the A trench with the E and F trench distances tied to the A trench via tephra layers.

Quality
The quality of the data were determined by measuring samples from the
GISP II core which had been previously analyzed. In all cases, the GISP II samples measured at Penn State were within one sigma uncertainty of previously measured values at URI. Anayticall precision for each entity is included in Sowers and Jubenville 2000.
