Abstract: This map shows the distribution of major bedrock aquifer units at depths
greater than 500 feet below ground surface in Illinois. Major aquifers are
capable of yielding 70 gallons of water per minute. The data are sub-divided
into (1) aquifers yielding potable water (containing less than 2,500 milligrams
per liter of total dissolved solids), (2) aquifers yielding water ...
