NPP Gridded Retained Intermediate Products
Entry ID:
gov.noaa.class.RIP_GRD
Summary
Abstract:
ABSTRACT: The NPP Retained Intermediate Products (RIPs) are a data processing by-product that is required for generation of NPP operational products, such as Environmental Data Record (EDR). The RIPs are temporary products that are not intended for operational users. Because of the scientific value of some of those RIPs they have been identified as valuable for calibration and validation efforts ...
![]() Purpose: PURPOSE: The NPP RIPs will primarily be used for calibration and validation (Cal/Val) efforts for current NPP mission. They could also be used by the Climate Research communities as they will benefit from the Cal/Val data and techniques. The NPP RIPs could be used for algorithm improvement and development as well as for Cal/Val of future missions.
