Historical Methane (CH4) Record from the Vostok (Antarctica) Ice Core (157,000-26000 BP), in CDIAC, Trends '93
Entry ID:
CDIAC_CH4_VOSTOK
Summary
Abstract:
Atmospheric concentrations of methane (CH4) have been derived from ice
core data in Antarctica for nearly 160,000 years. The 2,083-m-long ice core taken by the Soviet Antarctica Expedition at Vostok (East Antarctica) has been analyzed for atmospheric CH4 concentrations from the Holocene (as recent as 2569 years BP) and back through that last glaciation and the ... ![]() Geographic Coverage
