Abstract: There are six subspecies of sandhill cranes (Grus canadensis) endemic to North
America. The greater sandhill crane (G. c. tabida) can be divided into several
breeding populations. Two of these populations, the Rocky Mountain Population,

Purpose: APPLICATION OF RESEARCH: The results of the survival analysis for both the
Rocky Mountain and Eastern Populations can be incorporated into population
models to evaluate the impact of harvest strategies.
