Abstract: This study is developing a GIS at multiple scales for the Kuparuk River Basin and other sites in Alaska. The project includes geobotanical sampling of 1 x 1 km grids at 100 m intervals for vegetation, soils, and active layer depth. Sites are:

U1 Barrow Grid (71 deg 20 min N, 156 deg 30 min W)
U3 Atkasook Grid (70 deg. 27 min N, 157 deg 25 min W)
