Abstract:
This data set consists of soil moisture data from 6 Russian stations
used in the Vinnikov and Yeserkepova (1991) 50-station archive and in the 130-station archive for use in land surface models. Data are available for the period 1978 to 1983. Also available are forcing and validation data (meteorological, actinometric, and hydrological) and depth of frozen soil layer data. Data are freely available from the Global Soil Moisture Data Bank at in ASCII format: http://climate.envsci.rutgers.edu/soil_moisture/
