IAI-Data-CRN_012_Marchesini_ch_ad: Density of Chusquea culeou adult in 50 m. transect
Entry ID:
IAIDIS788
Summary
Abstract:
During 2001 a native forest in the South of Argentina experienced the
massive flowering and death of the bamboo Chusquea culeou, a dominant understory species. We proposed to assess the impact of this event on: a) the environmental factors and b) the population dynamics of forest vegetation. We recorded air and soil temperature, relative air humidity and light intensity under two conditions: death and green bamboo. We also registered the survirvoship, growth and herbivory rates on Nothofagus nervosa, a canopy dominant tree and Chusquea culeou seedlings. We evaluated the density of Chusquea culeou adult in transect of 50 m. We recorded the distance of each individual plant along each transect.
