Integrated Surface Hourly (ISH) Data is digital data set DSI-3505, archived at the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC). The Integrated Surface Hourly (ISH) database is composed of worldwide surface weather observations from about 20,000 stations, collected and stored from sources such as the Automated Weather Network (AWN), the Global Telecommunications System (GTS), the Automated Surface ...
 Purpose: To make a wide range of climatic data available to researchers and the public. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: data set CURRENTNESS REFERENCE: Ground Condition Fees, if applicable, are displayed on the web page for obtaining these data; fees are also dependent on customer order specifications. Please contact NCDC for further information on fees and terms for retrieving these data.

Graham Robertson developed the idea/need for the research and the research question and methods; Malcolm McNeill was the operations manager of the collaborating fishing company that provided the fishing vessel; Neville Smith helped with gaining approval for the research by NZ stakeholders, contributed to the design of the project and provided administrative support; Barbara Wienecke collected the data at sea in 2002; Steve Candy did the analysis, Frederique Oliver (and Graham Robertson) collected the data at sea in 2003
