Abstract: Project REVIZEE (Living Resources in the Exclusive Economic Zone)
The United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) granted the right to the coastal country to exclusive use of the marine resources within the 200 n.m. economic zone and at the same time the concept of sustainable use of the marine environment was introduced. Following the recommendation of UNCLOS and the ... Agenda 21 of UNCED, the Brazilian government established the national REVIZEE program in 1994. The Program introduced four regional subcommittees to develop its regional REVIZEE program. Four regions were selected for their specific oceanographic characteristics: southern, central, northeast and north REVIZEE programs.
The REVIZEE program has as its specific objectives to be accomplished within 10 years: 1) the estimation of the distribution, seasonal variation, abundance and potential sustainable yield of fishery stocks; 2) the obtaining of general information on the structure and dynamics of the marine ecosystem in which the living resources inhabit; 3) the evaluation and monitoring of the potential sustainable yield and prospects for the future exploitation of marine resources; 4) the definition of the new research fields for conservation and monitoring objectives (adapted from http://www.io.usp.br/english/projects/revizee.html).

Access Constraints Registration is required before you can download AS2GT.
Use Constraints The following requirements apply to AS2GT and the larger PMSDT package.
- AS2GT runs on Unix and Linux systems.
- Some converters, like hdftogs, get_smmr_tbs, and AMSR_E_L2A_togs, depend on
the Hierarchical Data Format (HDF) version 4 available from NCSA.
- The mapx library available from NSIDC Tools is ... required to run gsgrid.
- gsgrid stores 2 floating point grids per channel in memory, so you will need
2*Nbands*Width*Height*4 bytes of RAM.
- You´ll need a C compiler and the "make" utility to build it.
- Each AMSR-E L2A half orbit takes up about 80 megabytes of disk space and
there are up to 30 half orbit files per day.
